Where Middle School Science Sparks Creativity, Curiosity, and (Occasional) Classroom Chaos!

Hi there! I’m so glad you found your way to Next Period: Science! a blog made by a middle school science teacher (that’s me!), for other teachers who want to make science unforgettable, manageable, and actually fun.

About Me

I’m a certified 6–9 science and social studies teacher in Ohio with over 10 years of classroom experience, and a passion for bringing order to the chaos, while still letting kids blow stuff up (safely, of course ). I’ve taught everything from cell theory to tectonic plates, and along the way, I’ve learned a few things:

*The best learning happens when students get to DO science, not just read about it.

*Middle schoolers are hilarious, unpredictable, and wildly creative

Science is the best subject (yes, I said it).
